Venclexta may be used to treat adults with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL), or newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Venclexta is a tablet that is taken once daily by mouth.

Venclexta’s mechanism of action involves targeting a specific protein called BCL-2. BCL-2 acts like a cell’s on/off switch for death, preventing cells from programmed cell death (apoptosis). Cancerous blood cells, particularly in CLL, SLL, and AML, often overproduce BCL-2, making them resistant to traditional chemotherapy. Venclexta binds directly to BCL-2, turning the cell’s death switch back on and triggering apoptosis. Venclexta uses

Venclexta is used to treat adults with:

• chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) or small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL)
• newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia (AML) who are 75 years of age or older or who have other medical conditions that prevent the use of standard chemotherapy.

Venclexta Co-Pay card

A Venclexta Co-Pay card is available through the Genentech Oncology Co-pay Assistance Program for previously untreated CLL/SLL patients. Patients with commercial insurance pay as little as $0 per prescription for Venclexta + Gazyva or Venclexta + Rituxan if they qualify.
